Young woman assaulted on Recreation Ground
Monday, 5th September 2011.
Haverhill Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a young woman in the town.
The incident happened between 10.45pm and 11pm on Thursday, near to the toilets on the Recreation Ground in Camps Road.
The 22-year-old woman was walking near to the toilets when she was approached by a man. He pushed her into a wall and she subsequently fell to the ground, suffering a swollen eye and cheek and a gash to the bridge of her nose.
After a brief struggle the woman was able to run home.
The man is described as 5ft 5in tall, wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, black trousers/jeans and black footwear.
