Work starts on two new wheelchair bungalows
Sunday, 16th December 2001.
WORK has begun on two bungalows, which will be fully accessible to people in wheelchairs.
The houses are being funded and built through a partnership between the Borough Council and the Papworth Trust.
Two families from the West Suffolk Housing register have already being identified for the two three-bedroomed bungalows in Burton End.
Cll Derek Redhead, speaking at the site on Friday where he laid the first brick said: “There is a shortage of purpose built properties of this type so these new bungalows will be a valuable asset to the community.”
Chair of the Papworth Trust, Hugh Duberly added: “This is a good way to produce standard housing for people with disabilities.”
