Woman attacked near leisure centre
Tuesday, 16th October 2001.
A WOMAN was indecently assaulted on Sunday evening behind Haverhill Leisure Centre as she was leaving the Leisure Centres car park on Ehringshausen Way.
The woman was dragged by a man wearing a balaclava onto the old railway line behind the Haverhill Leisure Centre between 9:30 and 9:40.
The man who was wearing a balaclava, grabbed her from behind and dragged her up the slope towards Manor Road, behind the centre.
The victim, who has only just come forward because she was so shocked described the man as about 5ft 10ins, of medium build, and had a "musty" odour. He also wore a green wax jacket, dark jeans and black gloves.
Haverhill CID are appealing for information and would especially like to hear from young adults who often congregate in the Leisure Centre car park.
Anyone with information is asked to call (01284) 774100.
