Monday, 29th July 2013.
Children will get the chance to have a go on Haverhill Leisure Centre’s portable climbing wall which will be in Haverhill Plaza (outside the Leisure Centre) on Thursday between 10am and 4pm.
Abbeycroft Leisure, which runs the centre, will also be bringing its popular Explore Outdoor programme to East Town Park on July 29 and 30 from 10am to 4pm where youngsters will get the chance to have a go at a selection of activities.
Activities are from a range of archery, pond dipping, bush craft and fire lighting, orienteering, and shelter building.
The centre’s popular ‘Ultimate Water Fight’ will also take place on the last day of the school holidays, Friday, August 30, from 2pm to 4pm for ages five to 14 - plus there is a cycling session with British Cycling and raft building sessions in the pool.
Amelia Epton, Abbeycroft’s children and young people programme manager, said: “We have some great new additions to our summer holiday activity programme this year.
"We are also thrilled to be bringing our Explore Outdoor programme to Haverhill for the first time. We have already run these in Bury St Edmunds and they have proved to be very popular with youngsters who like to get outdoors.”
The centre’s popular holiday camps for children aged eight and over, and the new camps for six to seven-year-olds, will also run throughout the holidays up to Friday, August 30, (excluding Bank Holiday) from 9am to 5pm, and an early drop off or pick up is also available.
Activities this summer include athletics, cycling, swimming, football, racket sports, laser blast, arts and craft activities and film afternoons and much more.
