Visitor from the past heralds digital re-release
Wednesday, 29th September 2010.
Cineworld Haverhill will be playing host to a DeLorean car on Friday evening, to celebrate the rerelease of Back To The Future.
When it originally came out in 1985, Back To The Future took the box offices by storm, winning an Oscar and being nominated in a further three categories, not to mention five BAFTA nominations.
Doc Brown’s converted DeLorean time machine (you may ask why a DeLorean - to quote the good Doctor “if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?”) carried him and his young companion - Marty McFly - backwards and forwards in time across one of the most popular movie franchises of all time, and now audiences are being given the chance to see the original film in glorious digital presentation.
On Friday, October 1, Back To The Future will be re-released for a run of digital performances, ready for a whole new generation to enjoy, but this isn’t just another in a long trend of remakes.
The original film will be screened in Cineworlds around the country, including Haverhill, which will be getting a special visitor, all the way from 1985 (via 1955, 2015 and 1885) to celebrate the re-release.
There will be a DeLorean car outside Cineworld Haverhill from 7.30pm on Friday, in preperation for the 8.45pm screening of Back To The Future.
