Victory for ladies' captain
Thursday, 16th December 1999.
GOLF: With the exception of the odd medal round, December is turning out to be a quiet month at Coupals Road, as most of the activity is centred round the men's and mixed foursomes knockout events.
Thursday, though, saw the Ladies Christmas Stableford, which was followed by lunch. The competition was a team round which resulted in a victory for a side led by ladies' captain, Heather Eldred, who partnered Pam Smith and Beryl Greaves.
Their winning margin was four points from Rosemary Debnam and Barbara Elliott, who were a further point ahead of third-placed Linda Bugg, Brenda Reynolds and Rene Brown.
