Transformations Exhibition at Moyse's Hall Extended Until End March
Saturday, 5th January 2008.
“Transformations - the changing shape of women’s fashion,” the exhibition currently on view at Moyse’s Hall Museum, Bury St Edmunds, has been extended until the end of March.
The exhibition, which has attracted national attention, features fashion from the 1800’s to the present day and shows how the underwear that accompanies the styles has shaped a transformation. One of the notable outfits is a Christian Dior “New Look” going away outfit dating from 1947, worn by the wife of James Bond author Ian Fleming.
A costume day will be held on Saturday 8 March, led by Frances Tucker, a well known expert on ladies fashion. It will examine how fashionable looks through the ages have been achieved.
