Town's November Poppy Appeal Success
Monday, 5th February 2007.
Funds collected across Haverhill last November for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal have once again exceeded the results of previous years.
The total raised so far is £6,408, almost £900 more than last year and follows steady increases over ten consecutive years. This amount is due to rise further when personal donations are added to the final figure.
The president of Haverhill Royal British Legion, Mr Thomas, thanked local people for their time and generosity.
Commenting on Armistice Day last year, he said: "We had the largest parade ever known in Haverhill last year - approximately 400 people - and it's getting bigger every year."
