Town photographer challenges for top wildlife award
Tuesday, 12th June 2012.
A Haverhill photographer is in the finals of the prestigious nationwide British Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition.
Colin Edwards, who has a portrait studio in the town and is now also specialising in wildlife photography, has two images in the two different categories of the competition, which is being judged this month.
In the Habitat category he has a photo of a read warbler, taken at Fowlmere, and in the Animal Behaviour category he has a photo of a kingfisher re-emerging from the River Lea in Hertfordshire.
Colin, 36, who has lived in Haverhill all his life, used to work in the warehousing and distribution industry, but five years ago he set up his own business, Colin Edwards Photography, spcialising in portraits.
Over the last three years he has also become known in the wildlife field and has now set up Colin Edwards Wild Side as well, specialising in wildlife photography, which takes him all over Britain and abroad.
