Tots ready for life at 'big school'
Thursday, 29th July 1999.
GRADUATION day came early for youngsters at a playgroup who donned traditional attire as they went off on their way to "big school".
Town Mayor Angela Millar joined in the party as the 23 young graduates said goodbye to the Stepping Stones Playgroup, held at Haverhill's Chalkstone Community Centre every weekday morning.
Play leader Elaine McManus, said the group, which has been running for more than 10 years, celebrated the end of term with a Fun Day before the graduation ceremony.
"We are seeing different generations coming through with the brothers and sisters of past children, which is lovely," Elaine said.
The group is already almost fully-booked with three to five-year-olds due to start in September.
A few places are still available and anyone interested should ring (01440) 761018.
