Wednesday, 16th July 2003.
WEST Suffolk Hospital, in Bury St Edmunds, which serves patients from the Newmarket, Mildenhall and Haverhill areas, has regained its three-star status in the latest government performance tables published today.
The hospital lost two stars last year after recording a deficit of nearly £1 million.
John Parkes, chief executive of the hospital trust, said: "This is the best possible news we could have had.
Thanks to the sustained hard work and commitment of our excellent staff, we are back on track and everyone in the local community can be proud of this success."
