Thieves abandon theft from school building site

Bungling burglars failed to get away with copper from a school building site in Haverhill despite stealing a trailer to carry it in.
The incident happened late on Wednesday or early yesterday in Crowland Road, where the site of Place Farm Primary School is being extended.
In nearby St Botolphs Place between 2pm on Wednesday and 1.15am yesterday, a trailer was stolen from a front garden.
At the building site between 4.30pm on Wednesday and 8am yesterday the thieves attempted to steal copper by loading it onto the trailer but got away with nothing and abandoned the trailer on the site.
