Haverhill runner finishes inside the national standard time
Haverhill athlete Jemma Thake was this week basking in the glow of an outstanding performance at the English Schools Championships in Sheffield at the weekend.
The 14-year-old pupil at the Samuel Ward Upper School won a bronze medal in the junior girls 200 metres sprint on her debut at the championships.
The Clare-based runner runner ran 25.07 sec, inside the national standard standard, and improved on her times from the heats.
Not suprisingly, Thake declared herself: "Really pleased."
