Wednesday, 16th September 2009.
Tesco Pharmacy Managers Martin Howe and Cherie Aronson were at the Haverhill Leisure Centre last Saturday offering adults free cholesterol checks.
The free checks were part of the family health day that recently took place at the Haverhill Leisure Centre, and was organised by HAVO (Haverhill Association of Voluntary Organisations).
Haverhill Tesco store manager Adrian Jones said: “The free family health day was a great event, and we were pleased to be a part of it. We are delighted that we are able to support the Haverhill community, even through our doors haven’t even opened yet!”
Although Martin and Cherie are not staff members from the new Haverhill Tesco, the store will have an in store pharmacy. It will offer a range of free services such as Blood Pressure checks, Blood Glucose testing, smoking cessation and a range of free healthcare leaflets. In addition, the pharmacy will also offer charged services such as health checks when it opens, and will dispense NHS prescriptions.
