Tennis club follows close win with second defeat

Haverhill men's tennis team recently played two away matches in the Halstead and District Tennis League, Division One.
They beat The Essex 'B' 5-4. Nigel Fitch & James Booth won 6-4, 6-3, 6-1; Robert Jeffs & Ross Tobin lost 3-6, 0-6, 2-6; Jake Warner & Josh Dashwood lost 4-6 and won the other two sets 6-2,6-0 to win a closely-fought match.
Away to Hedingham A they lost for the second time this season to the same opposition 6-3. Nigel Fitch & James Booth won 6-2, 6-3, 5-2; Steve Read & Tom Marsh lost 2-6, 1-6 1-6; Jake Warner & Ian Terry lost 3-6, 2-6, 3-6.
In both these matches they were without their inspirational captain Adam Fowle and he was sorely missed.
