Tennis club charity day raises £400
Wednesday, 15th June 2011.
Haverhill Tennis Club held a charity day in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust on Saturday, in memory of local girl Jessica Gower who died last December aged 14.
The day, which raised £400, was divided into two parts with the morning based on a sports day for family groups with basketball, football, balloon and wiggle car racing to tennis based games.
Everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch with lots of tea and cake on offer (kindly donated by parents) and in the afternoon the club held a parent-child competition based around the three levels of mini tennis.
A huge thankyou goes to everyone who helped on the day, baked a cake, supplied something for the raffle, took part in any of the games, played in the competition, helped tidy up, couldn't be there on the day but donated, turned up for 20 minutes to show their support and of course, loaned the tennis courts.
