Tempestuous weather postpones The Tempest
Wednesday, 28th July 2010.
Yesterday's torrential rains forced a postponement of the performance of Shakespeare's The Tempest at East Town Park in Haverhill, scheduled for the evening.
The performance, by local group Outspoken Theatre, will now take place on Friday at the same venue at 7.30pm.
Organisers assessed the site at 5pm yesterday and decided it was unsafe for performers and audience and called off the show.
the performance is part of Haverhill Town Council's Summer In Haverhill programme.
Fortunately, Outspoken Theatre, who are performing the play at Hundon Plough tonight and at Hildersham Churchyard on Saturday, starting at 6.30pm, had Friday evening free and were able to switch days.
Tickets at £5 will be available on the gate on Friday, or can be booked beforehand at Haverhill Arts Centre box office on 01440 714140
