THE weather has been unusually bright and pleasant for the recent Sunday fare of football.
It has gone down a treat with the goal-poachers of the Treadfirst Sudbury Sunday League with the number of times goalkeepers are picking balls up out the back of the net being extreme.
Ahead of their Suffolk Sunday Cup match this Sunday, Acton Crown held Woolpack to a 4-4 draw in their Division One.
Barry Miller's United Old Boys comprehensively beat Cole Green away from home 6-0, while Haverhill Bull and Haverhill Snooker and Bowl shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, leaving Bull top of the table.
Lionhearts go top of Division Two with an impressive 4-2 victory over last season's winners Mount Pleasant Reserves.
Haverhill Royal Exchange's first league encounter of the season saw them beaten by Clare side Border Athletic 6-3.
In Division Three, a revitalised AFC Thurlow side go top of Division Three with their second consecutive victory of the season with a 3-0 win over winless Cornard Crusaders.
Dave Johnson's Figleaves are perched behind in second place only on lower goal difference after completing their second consecutive victory of the season with a thumping 9-2 demolition of Barnadiston Arms.
In Division Four, newly-promoted Suffolk Punch won their first game of the season comfortably with a 7-5 victory over North Street Tavern.
After a good start in county competitions this season, Rose Tavern carried over their form to the league with a 3-1 win over Wells Hall Wanderers.
In Division Five, Newton Orient dominated play to beat Woolpack Reserves 2-1 in a entertaining encounter, and Delaware Feather Angels were beaten again 2-1 against Haverhill Ex Serviceman's Club.
