Thousands of students across Suffolk are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results today, as early indications show a significant number of schools have seen an increase in the number of students achieving five A*-C grades.
School self-reported results received by the county council indicate that there has been across all schools an average five per cent rise in the number of students gaining five or more A*-C grades, including English and maths, to 56 per cent.
A total of 98 per cent of pupils from Castle Manor Academy in Haverhill achieved five or more A*-C grades across the board, while 52 per cent scored an A*-C in five or more subjects including maths and English. This showed a 12 per cent increase on the academy’s figures from last year.
