Stratford St. Mary church roof lead theft - witness appeal

Suffolk Police is appealing for information following a lead roof theft from a church in Stratford St. Mary.
At some point between Thursday 3 September at 10pm and Friday 4 September at 6am, an unknown amount of lead was stolen from a church roof on Church Road.
It is believed that offenders may have visited the site sometime between Thursday 27 August and Saturday 29 August, causing damage to the roof prior to the subsequent theft.
Police would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity, including people or vehicles, in Stratford St Mary at the times stated.
New information has been received concerning a vehicle seen on the night of the church roof lead theft in Combs. A large van was seen in the village during the early hours of Monday 24 August, and is described as a white, either hi-top transit or box van, with large vertical doors at the rear, with the word "removals” on the side.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a vehicle matching this description, or has any other information that may assist with their enquiries. Police would like to encourage communities to remain vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity or crimes in progress to police by dialling 999.
