Stars come out in Haverhill
Wednesday, 27th January 2010.
The first weekend in March sees two iconic national figures visiting Haverhill - a former England goalkeeper and a top modern jazz star.
Peter Shilton, England's most-capped footballer with 125 appearances beginning in 1970, came to the town last year to re-open the refurbished Leisure Centre, and returns on Friday, March 5, as guest speaker at Haverhill Rovers' sportsmen dinner.
Saxophonist Courtney Pine is at the forefront of the British jazz scene and Haverhill Arts Centre is the only venue in the region to have secured a spot in his latest national tour. He will be here on Sunday, March 7.
Tickets to see Peter Shilton at Haverhill Golf Club are £35 each (£350 for a table of ten), including a three-course carvery dinner. Ccontact Terry McGerty during working hours on 01440 707049 or terry@printwisegroup.com to book.
Tickets to see Courtney Pine at Haverhill Arts Centre are £22.50 in advance or £25 on the door, and you can book by ringing the box office on 01440 714140.
