Spate of motor-bike thefts over the weekend

Thieves have targeted motor-bikes in a spate of burglaries and thefts in Haverhill over the past few days.

In Vange Place between 3pm and 9.45pm on Saturday, a silver Pulse Rage motorbike was stolen from a garden and was later found abandoned in woods off Orford Road.

A red Honda motorbike, registration VBJ105X, was stolen from a driveway in Chapple Drive between 4pm and 9.10pm on Sunday and a car also parked on the driveway was damaged.

At around 9.10pm two people were seen on the bike at Burton End, the passenger without a helmet. The bike made off along a footpath towards the Clements estate.

In Hundon Place between 7pm Friday and 8.15am the next day, burglars broke into a shed by forcing the lock and stole two tool boxes and a red Kawasaki motorbike. The motorbike was later found at Haverhill Leisure Centre.

And a black Honda CBR motorbike, registration AE55LXO, was stolen between 9pm on Friday and 4am next day from outside a house in The Pightle where it had been left secure.

Only a few weeks ago police appealed to people to take care over securing their motor-bikes after they seized one which had been used for illegal off-road riding by youngsters on the Clements estate and nearby fields.
