Snow closes some town schools
Friday, 18th December 2009.
As snow has caused disruption across he region, several schools in Haverhill are closed this morning, the last day of term.
Castle Manor Business and Technology College is closed because the building has no heating.
Castle Hill Middle, Cangle Primary, St Felix Primary and Place Farm Primary are also closed.
At Burton End Primary the school is open for the morning only and children can be collected any time after 1pm.
Samuel Ward College of Arts and Technology, Castle Hill Middle, Clements Primary, and Coupals Primary were all open this morning.
Roads round the town were extremely treacherous this morning as few appeared to have been gritted and motorists slithered their way to work.
Some struggled to get up slopes like Duddery Hill and Clements Lane, while others abandoned their cars because of the difficult conditions.
