Snow brings day off school for many pupils

The promised significant snowfall finally arrived in Haverhill yesterday and disrupted some travel to work this morning.
Driving was difficult on some rural roads, and several schools were closed today.
Three primaries remained completely open all day - Clements, Westfield and New Cangle.
The other four primaries - Coupals, Place Farm, St Felix and Burton End were closed.
Samuel Ward Academy was open from 10am for exams, while Castle Manor Academy was open only for the year 13 psychology exam at 9am and the year 11 geography exam at 1pm.
Teachers from Castle Manor drove out to collect some pupils and bring them into school for their exams.
