Series of daylight thefts from cars continues
Monday, 25th March 2013.
There has been another week of daylight thefts from cars in Haverhill, particularly focused around the Clements estate.
Six incidents wee recorded last week to add to four on the same morning the previous Friday.
Between 6.30pm on Monday, March 18, and 6.50pm the following day an unlocked car in Wellington Terrace was searched but nothing taken.
On Wedneaday between 2.30pm and 3.30pm a car parked in Snowdon Court had its window smashed and property taken.
The same pattern was followed on Thursday between 12.15pm and 12.30pm in Exeter Court and between 1.25pm and 1.40pm in Shepherds Court, and then on Friday between 6.40pm and 6.50pm in Ladygate.
The Chimswell estate has not been immune as there was a similar incident in Vetch Walk between 4pm and 5.10pm yesterday.
PC Mike Potter of Haverhill Safer Neighbourhood Team said they needed the public to be nvery vigilant.
"If you see anyone peering into vehicles, or smearing the snow or frost off car windows to look in, call the police," he said.
Property stolen has been in bags or rucksacks left in cars, so motorists are being urged again not to leave anything like that in their cars, and also to make sure any loose change they keep in their cars is well hidden.
Anyone with information can ring Haverhill police on 101 or Crimestoppers annonymously on 0800 555111.
