Seasonal police warning about thieves and burglars

With the approach of autumn and the nights drawing in, Haverhill police have issued a warning to residents to make sure they keep their property secure.
Haverhill's police chief, Insp Chris Galley, said darkness provided a cover for thieves and burglars and it was important residents made sure items such as bicycles were put away safely and not left out in back gardens after dark, when thieves could easily steal them.
Also, many people unlocked their windows for the summer and should now be checking they were locked again for the autumn and winter months.
