Search is on for new chairman for ONE Haverhill
Monday, 8th July 2013.
After two years as chairman of ONE Haverhill, Cllr Anne Gower is to stand down in September after leading the partnership from its formation to the successful launch of the town’s community budget.
Cllr Gower, who represents Suffolk County Council on ONE Haverhill, was appointed to chair the partnership during a two-year transition period where it could develop and ‘find its feet’ - that period ends in September.
ONE Haverhill is now seeking nominations from its hoard for a new chairman to take over the role.
Cllr Gower said: “It is now time to hand over the role of chairman as ONE Haverhill enters a new phase of its development.
“I’m pleased that we are now seeing the results of a lot of hard work by all members of ONE Haverhill to get us into a position where we can deliver a nationally recognised Community Neighbourhood Budget Plan and start to have meaningful, single conversations about what next for the partnership and how the board can develop its role in the town.”
The appointment of a new chairman will be announced later this month.
Sarah Howard, vice-chairman of ONE Haverhill, said: “Without Anne's drive, hard work and enthusiasm there would not be a ONE Haverhill.
"It was her ambition to have one partnership where all the organisations in the town could come together and have a single conversation and provide one voice for Haverhill.
"She has chaired ONE Haverhill for the last two years and in that time it has grown and partnerships have been strengthened, culminating last month in the launch of the Haverhill Community Budget Plan."
