School welcomes foreign friends
By Martin Chapman on Thursday, 19th October 2000.
THE school has begun to calm down after the rush of activities in the first few weeks of this half term which comes to a close today (Thursday)
Last Thursday the school welcomed, for the fourth time, eight students from the Ukraine. They will be staying with students in and around Haverhill for the next two weeks. The by-annual exchange is a part of the school's successful exchange programme.
The school PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is looking for new members. Not too much commitment is required; lot's of fun, with approximately one meeting each term. The PTA always welcome new ideas to support the school. Anyone interested in becoming a member should contact Mrs Merch Chammon on 01440 761511.
Last week saw the school celebrate student success over the past year with the annual awards evening.
The Year 11 Swing Band entertained the audience and Stephen Moore and Owen Collyer made everyone laugh with their very music-drama entertainment.
