School awaits council support

A Haverhill school is waiting to find out whether St Edmundsbury council will support new sporting facilities, with £50,000 cash.
At St Edmundsbury Borough Council’s next cabinet meeting on April 7th, councillors will decide whether to allocate the funding towards the new community facilities.
The plans support the council’s objective of providing recreational facilities for children and young people. It also would contribute to their plans to support football by including improvements to changing rooms.
Youth teams, pupils and staff will benefit from any improvements made, which the school has found £80,000 towards the new facilities which will include a floodlit artificial surface. The surface will be suitable for a range of games, and will provide an all weather facility for football and hockey.
