Samuel Ward Gravity Racer
Sunday, 1st November 2009.
The gravity racer created and developed by Samuel Ward College of Arts and Technology in Haverhill, in a project led by teacher David Ackroyd, proved a popular attraction at the town’s recent business exhibition.
The racer broke the world land speed record for a non-powered vehicle in September last year at Eastbourne, with just over 62mph.
This video was made on the day of the attempt and is partly filmed from inside the racer.
