UMBRO SUFFOLK FA BOYS U15 MINOR CUP: Haverhill Rovers 9 Boxford Rovers 0, match report.
After a two month break due to bad weather, Haverhill entertained Boxford in the Umbro Cup.
The home side seized the initiative, applying pressure on the visitors from the off. Ten minutes in and Palmer broke down the right. His cross found Bishop who finished well.
Sanjay set up the second for Gathercole who also added the third before the break.
Boxford’s hopes of a comeback were dashed in the second half when Robson’s diving header made it four.
The visitors tried to get at the Rovers but Kennedy threw himself into every tackle so it was only justice when he smashed home from a corner.
Sanjay capitalised to score a well deserved goal after Haines’ free kick came back off the bar. Jarid added to the tally with a tap-in while Bishop grabbed his second.
Gathercole rounded off the scoring with a fine solo effort to grab his first hat-trick of the year. Boxford nearly grabbed a consolation goal but could only find the post.
The only controversial moment came when Dave Palmer went for the ball but was sent sprawling after being tripped by the ref’s kit bag. He was, not surprisingly, booked for diving.
