Rovers ending season in style
Thursday, 29th April 1999.
HAVERHILL Rovers are finishing the Jewson League Division One season in style by following up last week’s win at Dereham with a 4-1 demolition of Norwich United.
Mark Brandt scored twice for Rovers, the other goals coming from Simon Lapthorne and Paul Jenkins.
"Once we settled down and got into our routine we played well," said Haverhill joint manager Danny Boyle.
"Brandty’s made a big difference for us. He’s given us that punch up front and we look like scoring goals now."
Their recent improvement means that a seasoti which started so poorly will end with Haverhill just below mid-table.
"We’ve done well when you consider all the problems we had early in the season," said Boyle. "We are looking in good shape for our attack on the league next season and we’re looking forward to it already."
