What do we want with eggs & ham when we've got plum & apple jam?
15 November, 10am, Ipswich Record Office
Talk by Rachel Duffett. While the soldiers or the First World War could sing humorously about their lack of rations, often army food was no laughing matter. The military recognised the link between food and morale but the challenging nature of conflict made the supply of provisions difficult. This talk will look at army feeding on the Western Front and use records from the archive to illustrate the special significance food had for men.

Tickets cost £5.50, which includes coffee & cake.

Ninety years on - memorials of the Great War in Suffolk.
22 November, 2pm, Ipswich Record Office

Gwyn's talk looks at some of the hundreds of war memorials in Suffolk and considers the different ways in which that objective was achieved.

Tickets cost £5.50, which includes coffee & cake.
