Pure Energy Multimedia Supports Haverhill's Dancing Stars
By Elaine Collins on Friday, 3rd November 2006.
Web design and online marketing company, Pure Energy Multimedia have agreed to support the Lisa Mason School of Dance in their recently launched sponsorship initiative.
Founded in October 2005, the school has established a reputation for providing first class dance tuition and impressive displays at local events such as The Haverhill Show.
Director, Lisa Mason, decided to mark the school’s first anniversary by launching a sponsorship scheme to help raise extra funds towards the costs of future productions.
“We are now hoping to expand our event programme and undertake a number of exciting new projects. These include an annual Christmas Show and a series of concerts for local care homes. However, when it comes to staging any performance the costs can be extremely prohibitive!
“Costumes remain the main expense. Although we design and create the majority ourselves, our Christmas show is ambitious with a programme that demands a range of costumes. The children will be dressed as mermaids, butterflies with gauzy wings and even teapots! This diversity demands imagination and the use of appropriate materials to create onstage drama and spectacle. The costumes must have impact."
The school is offering businesses and organisations the opportunity to support its efforts by sponsoring costumes for the many lively and colourful dance numbers that will be part of ‘First Steps to Christmas’.
This innovative idea quickly caught the imagination of one local company. Jason Fitzpatrick, MD of Pure Energy Multimedia confirms:
“Pure Energy is committed to supporting the development and promotion of the arts in Haverhill. We are delighted to be working with the Lisa Mason School of Dance this year. The beauty and discipline of dance encourages self-esteem, confidence and a drive for excellence in young people.
“I’m impressed with Lisa Mason’s resourcefulness and her plans for the school to become an active presence within the community touching other lives through performances for elderly people. We hope our sponsorship helps reward her students with the visibility they deserve and I look forward to their Christmas production.”
The Lisa Mason School of Dance currently provides tuition for over 45 three to eleven year olds. Classes are held on Saturday mornings and students are entered for BATD examinations. The Christmas production, ‘First Steps to Christmas’ is due to be held on Saturday 16th December at Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College.
As well as designing sets and costumes Lisa has choreographed all the sequences. She explains:
“Dance offers young people the chance to express themselves in movement and build their fitness in a sociable and fun environment. Public performance is the icing on the cake, providing a spotlight for hardworking students to display their technical achievements before a large and varied audience.
“With the help of our sponsors we plan to stage a fabulous production!”
