Pupils plant a Millenium Dome of their very own in just one day
Thursday, 9th December 1999.
PUPILS at Clements Primary School, Haverhill, had no trouble getting their Millennium Dome ready on time - it was created in just one day.
The youngsters took part in a workshop to create the dome, planting a living willow, in their schools grounds.
The 10ft dome has a doorway and windows and is intended to create summer shade and an exciting play area.
As well as learning the traditional East Anglian craft of willow weaving, the pupils buried a time capsule in their dome.
A tree was also planted by International Flavours and Fragrances, which sponsored the event.
