Polling station moves as candidates announced

Polling for the Haverhill Town Council has moved for residents of the St Mary’s and Helions Ward.
The elections caused by the resignation of two councillors is to take place Thursday, August 1.
Residents of St Mary’s and Helions should now vote at the Old Independent Church Hall in Hamlet Road, as the Town Hall Arts Centre is unavailable for polling day. Residents of the Clements ward are unaffected and should cast their votes at the Leiston Centre.
Both polling stations will be open from 8 am to 9 pm.
Two candidates are contesting the St Mary’s and Helions seat, Susan Davies, of Fern Grove for Labour and Michael Graham, of Quendon Place for the Haverhill Representative Alliance. The elections was caused by the resignation of former Mayor Eric Bowman.
For the Clements Ward for candidates are contesting the seat after Len Hancock moved away from the area. (In alphabetical order) Gordon Cox, of Hundon Place stands independently, Carole Pinker, of Bures Court represents Labour, while Angela Woodley of Henderson Close represents the Haverhill Representative Alliance.
