Police warn about illegal use of school grounds
Monday, 13th June 2011.
Police have issued a warning about illegal use of school grounds following incidents of fires being started.
The incidents have occurred in the grounds of Parkway Middle School, but there have been other incidents of nuisance at Castle Manor and at Place Farm Primary School where people have used the school grounds as a short cut from Camps Road to Crowland Road.
It is thought the fires were the result of people lighting camp fires on the grounds.
PC Mike Potter said it was an offence to cause a nuisance on educational premises, which should be used in school hours and not afterwards
"School grounds are not thjere for short cuts or camping," he said.
