Police seek dog-owner after attack in East Town Park

Wednesday, 19th February 2014.

Police are appealing for the owner of a dog which attacked a Jack Russell and injured its owner in Haverhill to come forward.

The incident took place at around 11.30am last Thursday, February 13, at East Town Park in Coupals Road.

A husband and wife were walking their Jack Russell through the park where they encountered a man walking a large brown dog with short hair.

The Jack Russell went over to sniff the brown dog which then grabbed the Jack Russell in its mouth and shook it.

The owner then went to free his pet from the mouth of the other dog, sustaining bites on both his hands in the process.

As a result of this incident the Jack Russell had to be treated at the vets and its owner needed medical attention, requiring stitches to both hands.

The owner of the large brown dog is described as a white man of stocky build. Police would like to speak to this man to discuss the incident.

Anyone who believes they know who this man is, or who has any information about this incident, is asked to contact PC Christian Thomas at Haverhill Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
