Police commissioner to talk to local businesses
Wednesday, 10th July 2013.
Tim Passmore, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Suffolk, is the guest speaker this month at a meeting of town business people.
The bestof Haverhill holds its next business meeting on Thursday, July 18, at Days Inn, from 10am to 11.30am.
Mr Passmore was elected to his position in November and has spent the last seven months visiting towns across the county to find out what people in Suffolk are concerned about.
He will provide an insight into the role and outline the priorities for policing at a county level and in Haverhill.
There will also be an opportunity for the local business community to raise their concerns with him and to take part in a question and answer session.
Elaine Carr, owner of thebestof Haverhill, said: “An elected Police and Crime Commissioner is something new. I think many people are wondering just what the role involves and how much influence the cCommissioner has on what actually happens with policing and crime.
"With questions being asked in Parliament about the impact that police and crime commissioners are having in their communities I think Tim’s visit is quite topical.”
If you would like to attend this free event, call Elaine Carr on 01440 710 158 or email Haverhill@thebestof.co.uk by Tuesday, July 16.
The event is open to all local businesses and organisations; you do not have to be a member of bestof Haverhill to be able to attend.
