Police chief thanks town for quite holiday period
Tuesday, 5th January 2010.
Haverhill partygoers were so well behaved over the Christmas festivities that they have been thanked by the local police chief.
Insp Andrew Mason said no alcohol-related crimes at all were reported in Haverhill on Christmas Eve, which he described as 'almost unheard-of'.
On New Year's Eve there were just four crimes related to drinking and the night-time economy.
"I would like to thank the people of Haverhill for their responsible drinking and mature attitude over the holiday period," he said.
