Police ask for help as car trail leads from Stambourne to Hundon

Police are appealing for information following a road crash in north Essex in which officers have identified potential leads in the Haverhill area.
The collision happened in Stambourne when a vehicle struck two parked cars and a house on Chapel End Way before driving off at 2am last Saturday.
Officers found a numberplate at the scene which had fallen off a blue Nissan Almera. Enquiries traced this car to an address in Alpheton in
Suffolk.
However, it was found burnt out in Hundon at 9.30am on Sunday.
Police have spoken to the registered owner of the vehicle who reported it stolen at midday on the Sunday.
Investigating officer, PC Niki Golling, said: “We are trying to establish who stole the car and the vehicle’s movements after the collision in the early hours of Saturday morning through to its destruction the following day.”
