Pensioner’s handbag snatched

An 83-year-old woman has had her handbag snatched at Haverhill, just a week after a similar incident in the town.
Suffolk Police are appealing for information about the incident, which happened at around 10.45am on Saturday morning.
The woman was walking along Downs Crescent when a man approached her from behind and asked what the time was.
She told him and he started to walk off towards Downs Place.
Moments later the same man ran up to the pensioner and grabbed her handbag. He then ran down Downs Place towards the Crowland Road area.
Although not injured, the woman was extremely shaken.
The man is described as white, between 20 and 30 years, with facial stubble, wearing a navy woollen hat, blue jogging bottoms with a stripe down the side and a dark blue jacket.
