Parents tweeted to school lunch
Friday, 23rd October 2009.
Parents throughout Suffolk will soon be able to see what is on the school lunch menu thanks to a new county council service being offered via Twitter.
Following the autumn half term parents will be able to log on to Twitter and find out what great lunch dishes will be available the following school day.
Chris Denny, for Suffolk County Catering, said; “We’ve found that many parents and carers like to know what’s going to be on the menu.
"This new service will allow parents to be better informed as to what’s being offered each day, helping them determine what to prepare in the evening or whether or not to have a school meal the following day.”
This service will only relate to meals served in primary schools across the county and parents will need to register for a free Twitter account in order to receive the updates.
Once registered you’ll need to start following Suffolk County Council via www.twitter.com/suffolkcc
The service is available to all parents, whether or not their child has a school lunch.
