Owner laughs as dog bites boy's leg
Thursday, 4th July 2013.
Police are appealing for information after a dog and its owner caused distress to a schoolboy in Haverhill.
The incident occurred at 6.30pm on Wednesday, June 26, near the Tesco supermarket.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, was walking along the railway walk with a friend when a white dog, believed to be a Staffordshire bull terrier or similar, jumped up and bit his trouser leg. The boy did not sustain any injuries.
The dog’s owner then laughed at the incident before the boy took his phone out and pretended to call the police. At this point the man became abusive, swearing at the boy, who ran off feeling threatened.
Police would like to speak to the dog’s owner about this incident. He is described as a white man, wearing an olive green hooded top, rough trousers/jogging bottoms and very dirty trainers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Matthew Hammill at Haverhill Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
