Nunn tumbles into third place
Thursday, 13th May 1999.
Haverhill Gymnast Jamie Nunn came third in the British Championships in the speciality of sports acrobatic tumbling.
Nunn, 16, of Rosefinch Close, Haverhill, achieved considerable success as gymnast, starting at the age of four, but took up sports acrobatics only 18 months ago.
He was very pleased with his performance, with a total score of 26.675 out of 30, close behind the winner who scored 27.
"It was really close. I was hoping to be fourth or fifth, so it was nice to come a bit higher," said Nunn, who attends Samuel Ward Upper School.
He will now go on represent the Eastern Region at the British Tournament at Bristol in November.
