New show venue means no entry fee
Thursday, 19th April 2001.
The Haverhill Show is to go ahead on july 1, using the Recreation Ground as its new venue.
There wear fears that it would have to be cancelled after foot-and-mouth concerns ruled out the Little Wratting showground, its usual site.
The new open site means organisers will not be able to charge an admission fee, which would have gone to charity.
Chris Hammond, the show committee chairman, said: "We are just hoping that the sponsors will dig even deeper into their pockets this year."
The show is the main fundraiser for LAMPH, an organisation for adults and children with disabilites.
