New service to benefit elderly and immobile
By Martin Chapman on Thursday, 6th June 2002.
A new service has launched in Haverhill allowing shoppers to do their weekly shop and then have delivered direct to their door.
The service launched by the Co-op in Jubilee Walk for shoppers in Haverhill and the surrounding area provides an option to leave the shopping at the store in special sealed crates, where it will be maintained at the appropriate temperatures, and then delivered in a by Co-op2U
The service is free for those spending over £25 and just £3 pounds for those spending between £10 and £24.99 for a charge of just £3. The special new service could be a real benefit to the elderly or those without a car.
At the same time the Co-operative movement has increased the return from the Dividend card. Now customers earn dividend on all of their shopping at the rate of 1p in the pound, and at the enhanced rate of 3p in the pound on Co-op branded goods and fresh produce.
