New housing manager to follow up promises
Thursday, 12th September 2002.
A NEW housing services manager for Haverhill has been appointed by the Havebury Housing Partnership.
Mary Gibbons, who joined Havebury from Ipswich Borough Council, will be responsible for tenant services in the town and surrounding villages. She is looking forward to making sure that promises made to former St Edmundsbury Borough Council tenants before the transfer to Havebury earlier this year are met.
"It is an exciting time for social housing, it is a fantastic opportunity to have the money to make improvements to people's homes. I will be focusing on making sure we provide the services our tenants want, undertaking the improvements we have promised and getting involved in the community as we start to work with tenants on community development projects," Ms Gibbons said.
Before working at Ipswich, she worked for Suffolk Heritage Housing Association and was involved in a similar process of transferring the Suffolk Coastal housing stock. She spent a year working in housing in Australia before arriving in Haverhill.
