MP takes up ambulance concerns
Friday, 5th February 2010.
Haverhill MP Richard Spring was looking forward to 'full and frank discussions' this morning when he went into a meeting about ambulance cover in the town.
Mr Spring, accompanied by his newly-chosen successor as candidate for West Suffolk Matthew Hancock, was meeting ambulance service chiefs at the town's ambulance station.
Also at the meeting was Haverhill Town Councillor Margaret Marks, who is closely involved with the town's first responder scheme.
Last autumn Cllr Marks wrote to Mr Spring with serious concerns about ambulance cover, deployment of ambulances and response time criteria.
She claimed the ambulance station had been under-staffed for a long period and crews were demotivated and stressed.
