MP joins top level county councillors in Haverhill meeting

The leaders of Suffolk County Council travelled to Haverhill for a meeting today, and invited the town's new MP to attend.
Led by council leader Cllr Jeremy Pembroke, the senior councillors convened at Castle Manor Business and Technology College business centre and were joined by MP Matthew Hancock.
The meeting was expected to last all day as councillors begin to wrestle with the likely financial constraints they will have when Government cuts begin to bite.
Cllr Pembroke called the meeting to discuss how to re-shape the county council to meet the serious financial challenges that lie ahead.
Mr Hancock was a chief adviser to George Osborne and the shadow treasury before the election.
